Festival and concert work in Charlotte comes down to volume and weather. Crowds arrive in waves at set breaks, and an outdoor date can mean a 95-degree afternoon or rain. We plan for both before the freight leaves Fullerton.
The stations are built for crowds: several presses, sizes XS to 4XL on hand, and a crew that clears the line during a set break. Indoors at Spectrum Center or The Fillmore Charlotte, or outside near Bank of America Stadium, we handle power, cover and flow.
How we set up for a Charlotte crowd
- Burst capacity: presses and crew sized to the rush between sets, not the daily headcount.
- Shade and airflow: dryers and heat presses add their own heat, so crew rotation and shade are part of the plan.
- Rain cover: a covered press area, with blanks kept off the ground in sealed bins. Wet shirts don't print.
- Power we can count on: two dedicated 20A circuits per station, or a generator plan if the site has no house power.
What on-site event printing needs at a Charlotte festival
Each station takes a 10×10 ft footprint and two 120V/20A circuits, and we want both marked on the vendor map before the freight is booked out of Fullerton. Romare Bearden Park and the lawn at Camp North End draw a good crowd, but the vendor row usually sits a long way from any outlet, so the organizer's generator plan is the first thing we ask about. Plenty of Charlotte's outdoor dates land in spring and fall, and summer shows why. July and August afternoons get heavy and humid, and a thunderstorm can roll through around four o'clock, so the tent goes up weighted, blanks stay in closed bins and we agree on a lightning hold with the organizer before doors. Two presses keep the wait near two minutes a fan, which is what you need when a set ends and half the lawn walks over at once. Live t-shirt printing inside Spectrum Center or on a Bank of America Stadium concourse runs on the building's rules: their electricians, their load-in window, their credentials. A hat bar in Charlotte sells best at the cooler fall dates, and when the lineup poster is full color, live DTF prints it as fast as a one-color tee.
