Room, power and a way in. Give each station about 10×10 ft of level floor and two dedicated 120V circuits, and make sure road cases can reach it. We bring everything else.
The Charlotte venue checklist
- Floor space: roughly 10×10 ft per station, plus a lane for the line. Most tower lobbies Uptown have the floor; it's the queue that needs a plan.
- Power: two dedicated 120V/20A circuits per station. At Charlotte Convention Center, electrical is ordered through the venue in advance. In a hotel ballroom, confirm the circuit isn't shared with catering. At a race-weekend tent it's usually a generator or a shared spider box, so we need the actual amperage.
- Load-in: a dock, freight elevator or lift for road cases. The Convention Center runs move-in on a marshalling schedule with drayage slots, so get us that window in writing.
- Cover outdoors: shade and a roof over the press. A 95-degree afternoon under a tent turns a station into an oven, and wet garments don't print.
What stays on our side
Presses, dryers, heat presses, ink, blanks from XS to 4XL, tables and the printers who run them. It all ships freight from our Fullerton shop, 2,100 miles away, and the crew lands a day before load-in, so a tight Charlotte move-in window is something we plan around early. On race weekends, credentials and vehicle access get locked down well ahead, so pass along parking and access details as soon as you have them.
